Journal Title:International Journal of Medical Studies
Quorum sensing is a communication pathway in bacteria that allows them to regulate their gene expression in accordance to their population density. This pathway is initiated due to the secretion of signal molecules, also called as autoinducers by the bacteria. Quorum sensing benefits bacteria by allowing it to survive better through the help of mechanisms such as virulence, conjugation, colonization, sporulation etc.
